Salvador Dalí

Surrealism Art

According to the free dictionary (Farlex) the surrealism art can be define like a 20th-century literary and artistic movement that attempts to express the workings of the subconscious and is characterized by fantastic imagery and incongruous juxtaposition of subject matter.

There a lot of styles in the art’s world, but my favorite is the Surrealism with the painter Salvador Dalí, the most incredible painter in the world for me, because his paints reflect a different world in which everything can pass.

Some fun facts that I can say about Dalí are:

  • His painterly skills are often attributed to the influence of Renaissance masters
  • His best-known work, The Persistence of Memory, was completed in August 1931.

  • Dalí was highly imaginative, and also enjoyed indulging in unusual and grandiose behavior.
  • His real name was Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí.
  • Dalí had a sister, who was three years younger and her name was Ana María.
  • Dalí was 16 years old; he later said his mother's death "was the greatest blow I had experienced in my life. I worshipped her... I could not resign myself to the loss of a being on which I counted to make invisible the unavoidable blemishes of my soul." (Dalí, 1921)
  •  In 1942, he published his autobiography, The Secret Life of Salvador Dalí.

These are my favorites pictures:

  1. Interesting! Have you read his autobiography?... I also like him, I have seen some of his works at the Queen Sofía Museum in Madrd and at the Soumaya Museum in Mexico city. Also, remember you need to choose one of your favorite paintings and describe it in 1-minute-speaking (where you first saw it?/ what it is like? /what makes you think/feel?)
